"Football Helmet"

If you asked Kade what he was for Halloween, his response would have been , "football helmet." Gary sent Kade a football helmet to complete his costume. He was so excited about it that he has been sleeping with it, next to him, in his crib.

(He now says he was a "football guy" instead of a "football helmet.")

Here are some pics from our busy Halloween. They are completely out of order, but I don't feel like taking the time to rearrange.

The morning that Memaw brought his football helmet.
Kade & Memaw at the Church carnival.

Kade loved this game - the goal was to throw a football through a tire. He would play until someone else got in line, and then get in line behind them, to play again.
Check out his form!

He was dang cute!
My neighborhood had a Halloween festival in the late morning. There was a cupcake decorating table, with all of the cutest stuff.

A balloon man made him a doggie.

There was a table for painting pumpkins.
The local 4-H club brought a bunch of baby animals for the kids to pet and feed. Kade fed the "baby cow."
It was slimy.
He loved the baby goat.

He had to ride on Dad's shoulders by the end of the night.

the Pumpkin Patch and Apple Orchard

We headed off to Wilcox, on Saturday, to go to the pumpkin patch.  Can you believe Rob has never been to a "pick-your-own" pumpkin patch?  I'm not sure who had more fun Kade or Kade's Daddy...

We also went to Apple Annie's apple orchard, to pick some Granny Smiths.

Can you tell that it was a windy day?
Check out the zucchini that Rob picked.  We grilled some that night.  I think we'll have to grill it every night for a month, to eat the whole thing!
Kade helped us pick some green beans.
He loved riding in the wagon.

He was so proud of it.  He wanted to carry it everywhere.

Kade loved the tractor hay ride.
We had a great day!

I'm sooooo SAD

He's so dramatic!
Good thing he gets over it pretty quickly.

Our PUMPKIN Picaso

"Stop taking my picture, Mom!"   I had to convince him that I was only taking pictures of the pumpkin!

He had so much fun painting his little pumpkins.

Scrap"Pink" Weekend

My Mom signed us up for a weekend of scrapbooking, at her local scrapbook store, in Yuma.   It was a weekend of fun, food, prizes, silent auction, projects, and scrapbooking!
Friday night (which lasted until midnight) was pink pajama party night.

Me & Mom (in our pink pajamas)
We had 4 mother/daughter groups
On Saturday, we took a break for some glow-in-the-dark miniature golf.  The golf course next door donated a free round for all of us.

So we had a Project Runway scrapbook challenge.  They gave us paper, ribbon, a heart brad, and the word "Survivor", that we were to use to make a "Survivor" page.  It could be about anything "survived".  We had an hour and a half to make the 12x12 layout.  And here was my page...
My little pink (popping out) tag says, "Leaving a Ladies' Lunch I fell of this cliff, while carrying my son.  He walked away unscathed!"  Under the little Elmo band-aid, was my elbow wound, and I made it so you could lift one side of the band-aid to see it.

And guess who was the page challenge winner?...

ME!!  I was shocked!  And I won this prize!  It's a Slice machine, that cuts out shapes and letters, using  different computer cartridges.  How fun is that?  I am so excited!  Now I just have to figure out how to use it.

Thanks Mom, for such a fun weekend!

A Little Bite of Heaven

Hershey Kiss cookies

I think these are my favorite cookies of all times! Until yesterday, I had never actually made them. I only had these heavenly morsels when someone else baked them. I made them for my Lunch Bunch group, and I guess they were a hit, because I didn't get to bring any home for my disappointed husband. Peanut butter and chocolate. I hope they have these cookies in Heaven!

Out On The Town!

We've been trying to explore Tucson, with the few nights that we're actually in town. Rob found out about this restaurant that has a train, so we met up, after work, and headed to dinner.

Pinnacle Peak is not just a restaurant, but a little western town. They have all these little shops, and old wagons, and western things surrounding the restaurant. There is a live comedy/gun show, that Kade did not enjoy. The guns went off and he started crying. They have a train, that goes thru a little cemetery and mining town. There is a Merry-go-round and (plastic) horses to ride. It was a neat place. Kade loved it!

We're off, on the merry-go-round, that lasted forever!
He was having a blast!

and round we went.
Needless to say, he fell asleep on the way home!
